Heading towards Sardinia with the Malossi Moped Rally

There are those who long for the Malossi Camp and those who lie.
This information is for the first group: the Malossi Camp isn’t dead, it has evolved. It’s now known as the Malossi Moped Rally, and this year we’re heading towards Sardinia.
Why and how? We need to either blame – or thank – Henry Favre, who became tired of rallying around the same loop over and over again like a hamster in a wheel.
This time, we’re off to Sardinia to breathe wild myrtle, chat with shepherds between wrench turns, and trash approx 15 mopeds on roads they were never built for.

How the Malossi Moped Rally in Sardinia works

We at Malossi are pretty straightforward, so let’s start from the basics.
The Malossi Moped Rally kicks off on 30th April, setting off from our HQ in Calderara di Reno. We will arrive back at our base where it wraps up on 5th May a little more exhausted, but a whole lot happier.
No one’s swimming acrossing the Tyrrhenian Sea, we’re nuts, but not that nuts.
The mopeds are transported by van, and the riders hop on a private bus. Then it’s ferry time, all nice and proper (more or less).
Once in Sardinia, our adventurers will sleep on Budoni beach, in tents that are anything but luxurious. Think zero glam, miles away from Porto Cervo and its flashy lifestyle.

So… what do you do?

Simple: 3 looped stages, 300 km in total.
Every day a new route, every night back to basecamp on the beach.
A little rough, a little wild, but it’s “home” if we can call it that.
All this is possible thanks to the Bike Village Rally and the municipalities of Budoni and surrounding towns, who helped us to turn this adventure into reality.

Would you like to join the Malossi Moped Rally Sardinia?

Hold your horses.
First off, no mopeds with points ignition or pulleys are allowed, because they’re just too fragile for what we’ve got planned.
Second: the 2025 edition is already full.
We’ve picked 15 die-hard moped fans ready to put their fate in Henry’s hands. Whether that was a smart call or not is not for us to say.
But we know one thing: they’ll be talking about this “crazy ride” for months on end.

Didn’t you make the cut? Don’t panic, we plan to do it all over again.
Just ask yourself: do you really have what it takes?
This gig is for those who have a non-homologated attitude, it is for raw & wild spirits and it isn’t for the comfort-addicted, the mud-averse, or anyone who needs a fully charged smartphone at all times.
You can’t say that you haven’t been warned!

What to pack for the Malossi Moped Rally

Underwear, socks, clean T-shirts, helmet…
For Sardinia, pack light and pack smart.
We’ll handle spare parts. Henry will be there to wake you up with a slap (so to say, probably with kisses) when your dreams turn into carburetor-clogged nightmares.
Spoiler: yes, you’ll break stuff and yes, you’ll fix it too.

We recommend keeping two dry spark plugs in your pocket and get ready to spend your evenings bringing mopeds back from the dead.

Henry’s got the rest: the man’s a backpack of wonders, torque correctors, jet kits, and a tuning telescope (we’re not kidding… at least we hope so).

Have you got any questions about the Malossi Moped Rally?
Meet us at the Miscela Day, to be held on Sunday, 13th April at the Modena Circuit.
We’ve got a dedicated Malossi Moped Rally corner where you can ask us literally anything.

To our brave Malossers: may this be the adventure you have always dreamt of, filled to the brim with new friendships and laughter that makes your sides hurt.
And if you’re not in this year’s crew, follow us, because this is definitely going to be the biggest moped massacre of transmission parts you’ve ever seen.
What about next time? You could be one of us.
